About the event
Utilzing baking soda, vinegar, and food coloring we will create our own witch brew. Each child will get the oppurtunity to create.
Lesson: STEAM
Mixing baking soda with vinegar, a chemical reaction is created because baking soda is a base and vinegar is an acid. When you mix them the chemical reaction makes CO2. This gas is lighter than air, so it causes the mixture to rise. And then the liquid of the vinegar mixture traps the gas bubbles.. which causes the mixture to bubble and foam over the sides of the contain. And there you have your witches brew!
